Sold Listings Feed Program
Technology has empowered consumers and professionals alike — they rely on data to simplify everyday tasks, and they expect that data to be fast, efficient and accurate.
The Sold Listings Feed Program was built to help brokers automate their agents’ work so they can effortlessly gain additional marketing exposure on their listings, and trust that the data is accurate and timely.
Sold Listings Feed Spec (ZSF):
ZillowSoldFeedTechnicalSpecV1.0
Requirements to send us a feed:
Sending a Sold Listings Feed is a technical undertaking that requires an XML file to Zillow Group. Simply sending us a URL of your website does not provide enough information for sold listing display. Creating an XML feed requires the ability to create a file that conforms to our specifications.
Zillow Group Sold Listings Feed – Commonly Asked Questions
WHAT IS A FEED? |
A feed is a means to publish frequently updated data in a consistent format. In the Zillow Sold Listings Feed Program, it’s an XML file that transmits your sold data. Typically, a web master or software developer will set up the feed.
|
WHAT DOES IT COST TO SET UP A FEED? |
Nothing. It’s free to send Zillow Group a Sold Listings Feed.
|
WHAT COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS DO YOU SUPPORT?
|
We support HTTP and FTP protocols. If you prefer FTP protocol, please email us at BrokerOperations@ZillowGroup.com and we’ll set things up. |
DOES MY LOCAL MLS SEND SOLD LISTING INFORMATION? |
Your MLS may already be providing Zillow Group with sold listing data and in this case, a separate broker Sold Listings Feed should not be needed. Email us at MLSSupport@Zillow.com to check if your MLS is sending sold data to Zillow Group.
|
WILL SENDING SOLD DATA CHANGE A HOME’S ZESTIMATE?
|
It certainly could! Providing Zillow Group with sold data helps us to power and improve our Zestimate. |
WHAT IF I’M LOCATED IN A NON-DISCLOSURE STATE?
|
Prices are not required in the Sold Listings Feed for non-disclosure states. In all other states, a price is required. |
HOW FAR BACK SHOULD I SEND SOLD DATA IN THE FEED?
|
As far back as you are able. |
HOW OFTEN SHOULD MY SOLD FEED UPDATE?
|
To eliminate the need for agents to manually enter their sold listings, your file should update every 24-48 hours. Additionally, sending sold data to Zillow Group within a timely matter will maximize the time the agent attribution (“Just Sold” card) will appear on off-market homes. |
WILL THE BUYING OR SELLING AGENT RECEIVE ATTRIBUTION ON THEIR SOLD LISTING?
|
Yes, for broker- and MLS-sourced sold data, we will display the buying and selling agent attribution on the off-market property page (“Just Sold” card) for 90 days after the sale date. For more information, please email us at BrokerEngagement@Zillow.com. |
HOW ARE SOLD LISTINGS CONNECTED TO THE LISTING OR BUYING AGENT?
|
On Zillow, profiles and sold listings are tied together when the email address in the feed matches an email address on a profile. If there is an email address mismatch, it can be corrected by claiming the sale manually. Email us at FeedSupport@Zillow.com if you need assistance manually claiming sold listings. |
YOUR SPEC REQUIRES DATA FOR BOTH SIDES OF THE TRANSACTION. WHAT IF I ONLY HAVE ACCESS TO ONE SIDE?
|
At minimum, we just need one side of the sale. If you have access to both the buying and selling agent and office information, please include it. |
DO YOU SUPPORT CO-LISTING OR CO-BUYING AGENTS?
|
A sold transaction can only be tied to one agent profile per side on Zillow. |
WHAT IF MY AGENT REPRESENTED BOTH SIDES OF A TRANSACTION?
|
Please be sure to include the agent’s information in both the <SellerAgent> and <BuyerAgent> tags. This will ensure the agent receives the correct attribution for both sides of the sale. |
CAN I STILL SEND YOU A SPREADSHEET OF SOLD DATA FOR MY AGENTS?
|
No, this feature has been retired in favor of the Sold Listings Feed. |
WHO DO I CONTACT IN CASE SOMETHING ISN’T WORKING CORRECTLY?
|
Please email Zillow Broker Operations at BrokerOperations@ZillowGroup.com. |
