Zillow Group COO Jeremy Wacksman Joins Axios’ Dan Primack to Discuss Hot Housing Market

The durability of the current housing market remains a top-of-mind question for many.

Zillow Chief Operating Officer Jeremy Wacksman joined Axios’ Dan Primack to discuss why the housing market has been a bright spot in the economy and why we expect that to continue.

Jeremy told Dan about the trends that are impacting the current market, including how we believe the tailwinds of the pandemic — accelerated tech adoption and the Great Reshuffling — plus the surge in new Millennial homebuyers, among others, continues to support a healthy housing-market backdrop for the long-term growth of Zillow’s business.

He also talked about how flexible work is driving more interest among moving, not only in Zillow’s workforce, but widely across the U.S. “We’re seeing the hottest markets being places that people want to move to, leaving where they’re moving from.” This trend, Jeremy explained, is “the reshuffling — People are really rethinking their individual situations.”
