Kids Day of Engineering

At Zillow Group we are passionate about creating a great employee culture and building amazing and innovative products. With those two priorities in mind, we are very excited to announce we will soon be holding our first-ever Zillow Kids Day of Engineering, our take on the traditional take your kids to work day — but with a twist.

On November 11, employees will bring their children, ages 3 to 17, to the Zillow office in Seattle. Throughout the day, the kids will participate in age-appropriate tech activities. We’ll have some of Seattle’s top teachers — from schools like Kidspace Childcare Center, Seattle Country Day School, Holy Names Academy and Creative Coding 4 Kids — leading workshops. Experiences will range from building activities for the younger kids, for example the 6-year-olds will be programming robot cars and creatures to live on an imaginary planet, to computer programming for the older kids.

After the morning tech workshops, the kids and their parents will come together for lunch and ice cream, and listen to some words of wisdom from Zillow Group CEO Spencer Rascoff and Code.org founder Hadi Partovi. After lunch, any kid who wants to can present a project — either from that day or a prior project — to the group.

Our hope is that our employees’ children will feel excited and inspired by what they learned, and employees will feel great about yet another perk of working for a company with an amazing culture.
