Today at the congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus’ “Diversity in Tech” Summit hosted at Howard University, it was announced that Zillow is participating in the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) Partnership Challenge. The HBCU Partnership Challenge is focused on promoting greater engagement and support for historically black colleges and universities.

Zillow is currently on a mission to transform the way people buy, sell and rent – making it easier and simpler to not just find, but get into the home they love and can afford. We’re committed to delivering new services and products to rewire the real estate transaction – so it becomes a streamlined, integrated consumer experience. These are lofty goals, and in order to achieve them, we know we need a talented, innovative and diverse workforce to address the unique needs of all home buyers, sellers, and renters around the country. As part of these efforts, Zillow has significantly expanded our university recruitment programs to be more inclusive – which is why participating in the HBCU Partnership Challenge is so important. For example, in the Fall, we will be participating in a career fair at North Carolina A&T University, and are exploring engagements with other schools as well.

We are excited to join this Challenge and thank Congresswoman Alma Adams and the congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus for their leadership on this issue that is critical to ensuring we have the vibrant, talented and diverse workforce we need for the 21st century.  We look forward to working with, and strengthening our engagement with these important colleges and universities.
