If you’re a TV watcher, you may have seen Zillow’s commercials “Long Distance” or “Find Your Way Home” airing over the past year, but last night, Zillow appeared on TV in a whole new way — as the featured home shopping tool on HGTV’s hit show “House Hunters.”

On the show, home shoppers Scott and Misty used Zillow to find a new home in Greenville, SC. The couple needed to relocate along with their two daughters, pets and Misty’s parents from Denver, CO when Scott accepted a job in the Greenville area. The family appeared on the show using Zillow to search for a 5-bedroom, Southern-style home under $500,000.

Before touring homes with local real estate agent David Painter, Scott and Misty got a feel for the Greenville real estate market by drawing their own search on Zillow (above).

Scott and Misty’s wishlist included a basement in-law suite, a community pool, high ceilings, screened-in porch, and no creeks (Scott doesn’t like snakes). The coupled toured three homes: the first was listed for $450,000 and had a community pool, but no vaulted ceilings; the second was a model home with large basement living quarters, but no community pool and the third was a striking traditional exceeding their budget. The couple settled on house No. 1.
