Now that the cookies have been devoured and Santa has come and gone, we here at Zillow have been reflecting on the season and noticed that, more than ever before, people are flocking to Zillow Mobile during the holidays.
It’s no surprise that weekends are typically peak times for mobile usage. Over the past year we’ve learned that your thirst for real estate information doesn’t end when you shut off your desktop. People are using Zillow Mobile while attending open houses, exploring new neighborhoods, even walking the dog.
What is surprising is the surge in mobile traffic on holidays. Christmas Day was the single largest traffic day ever for Zillow Mobile, and Thanksgiving was in the top 5! In fact, on Thanksgiving and Christmas, Zillow Mobile accounted for 30% and 33% of total Zillow traffic respectively. And, over the Christmas weekend, consumers looked at homes on Zillow apps more than one million times.
