A few weeks ago, I blogged about the bathroom remodel I’m doing to my house, using Dueling Digs as my inspiration for what I like in a bathroom. Well, actually it’s a master bedroom/bathroom remodel. I’m a rookie at remodeling, so this whole process has been very eye-opening. Predictably, I’m over budget, which I sort of expected. What I did not expect was how disconcerting it can be to see your house all torn up. Now I know how the family in “Extreme Makeover Home Edition” always feels when they’re off at Disneyland or wherever and they see the videotape of their house being demolished as they stare at the video screen in astonishment. Imagine my dismay as I walked up my stairs only to find my bathtub in my bedroom, and my toilet where my bed used to be.

Remodelers love showing before-and-after photos. Well here are my “during” photos:

Toilet in Bedroom
My bedroom, where the bed is supposed to be, not the toilet.

Bathtub in Bedroom
Bathtub in bedroom, where the bed is supposed to be…

Bathtub framing
The framing for the tub… yes! it’s the right spot!
