Earlier this fall, Zillow and Pottery Barn partnered together on the “Home Sweet Home” sweepstakes where one lucky winner would receive $15,000 in furnishings from Pottery Barn. That lucky winner is Rita Alarcon of Westminster, CA.
“I’m still shaking,” she said in a recent phone interview. When Rita received our email announcing her as the winner, she was stunned. “My father-in-law didn’t believe me. I thought you had added a zero” to the prize.
Rita’s never won anything like this before, and while she likes entering contests, she really enjoyed the simple and fun nature of this sweeps. “I follow Zillow on Twitter and entered once I saw this announced.”
Rita is most excited about using the money to redo her bedroom. She has her eye on a platform bed she’s seen on the Pottery Barn website along with some matching dressers. Having a matching set is something she’s always wanted. From there, it’s likely onto the kitchen for some updates and then a surprise that we won’t spill here.
