What exactly is REBarCamp you may be wondering? Pretty simple — it’s a wiki-style conference that gets organized entirely by the attendees. The idea of a barcamp in the real estate space kicked off in San Francisco back in July, and has since hit Houston and NYC. Yes, the date’s Friday, the 13th and the name RE BarCamp is weird, but don’t be afraid. It’s a friendly gathering for real estate pros to share information about the industry and the latest technology. Best of all, it’s FREE. Here are the details:
WHO: Real estate professionals in the Seattle area
WHAT: RE BarCamp, a gathering of real estate professionals to share information and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event filled with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants. What topics are going to be covered? Well, this is your conference — so I’ve used Google Moderator to set up a place where everyone can suggest ideas to discuss, or vote on existing suggestions.
WHERE: Zillow Headquarters, 999 3rd Ave, 41st floor
WHEN: Friday, Feb. 13, 9 AM- 5 PM (lunch will be provided)
WHY: To learn and interact with other real estate professionals who are passionate about technology, Web 2.0 tools, and online marketing.
COST: Free (transportation and parking expenses are the responsibility of the attendees). If you’d like to attend, please RSVP HERE.
We’ve lined up a bunch of great sponsors for the event to cover lunch, tshirts, and any other expenditures that arise. Here are those you can thank for allowing us to put this event together free of charge for attendees:
- BloodhoundBlog Unchained
- Active Rain
- Diverse Solutions
- Agent Image
- Real Geeks
- Hawaii Real Estate Guy
- Inman News
- Front Seat (Walk Score)
- Center for REALTOR Technology
- Altos Research
We’re still looking for additional sponsors, so please leave a comment if you’re interested (or know someone who may be).
And for a real deep dive into social media in Real Estate, attend the Bloodhound Unchained Mini-Conference the previous day. It’s on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 1-5 PM at Zillow headquarters. Mortgage lender Brian Brady and real estate broker Greg Swann are leading the charge — RSVP HERE (space is getting very limited).
If you’re in the Seattle area (or are willing to travel), we hope to see you the 12th and 13th!
