Zillow expands parental leave, mental health and other employee benefits in 2023

The new benefits reflect Zillow’s commitment to evolving support for employees in a ‘Cloud HQ’ workforce

At Zillow, we never stop striving to improve the employee experience — and our leading benefits package is an important part of creating a leading workplace. As the fundamental nature of work has evolved over the past couple of years, we’ve worked to respond with new and better ways to support our employees’ well-being. That’s why we’re taking a few unprecedented steps forward in the breadth and depth of benefits we offer.

On January 1, 2023, Zillow employees saw an addition of resources for many physical and mental health care options. These updates add even more options to our existing comprehensive coverage.

Extending parental leave and access to fertility services

Zillow has frequently been ranked one of the best places to work for parents, and we remain committed to further enhancing our benefits for families.

Paid parental leave will increase from eight weeks to 12 weeks at 100% pay. Delivering parents will also receive an additional eight weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave, for a total of 20 weeks of fully paid leave. This updated policy gives caregivers even more precious time with their families.

Zillow has also partnered with Progyny to give participating employees and family members new access to the nation’s leading fertility specialists and family-planning solutions, including egg freezing, surrogacy and adoption counseling. The program also provides personalized care from a dedicated care team to help connect employees to its network of premier fertility providers.

In addition, Zillow has included pregnancy loss in the company’s formal Bereavement Policy, offering employees 10 days of paid leave after the loss of a child.

Personalized mental health care for everyone

New work, home and life realities can bring new sources of stress and struggles to many of us. That’s why we’re expanding our mental health benefits, partnering with Lyra to offer employees and their family members support for anxiety, depression, caregiver stress, relationship challenges and more. With Lyra, a member can schedule in-person or virtual visits online, usually within 24–48 hours. Unlike most limited-duration mental health benefits, which offer a set number of therapy sessions per year, Zillow’s new plan will provide employees and dependents with eight free sessions and then allow them to extend their care with the same mental health care provider through their health care plan.

Affirming care and support for the LGBTQ+ community

The benefits that Zillow offers are one way we’re able to create an inclusive and supportive workplace. Included Health’s LGBTQ+ Care is available at no cost and provides comprehensive care services for employees in the LGBTQ+ community. This program connects employees and dependents with specialists who understand the health nuances, risks and concerns of those seeking affirming care. LGBTQ+ Care also provides assistance for those seeking guidance on insurance benefits, coming out at work, and parenting an LGBTQ+ youth.

Zillow is committed to continuously expanding and improving its employee care benefits to best serve the needs of our people and community. We want our employees to be proud to call Zillow their work home. Consider joining our team and view our current open roles at https://career.zillowgroup.com/careers.
